35 ISIS Militants Killed in Iraqi Airstrikes in Kirkuk

35 ISIS Takrifi terrorists have been killed in an operation, held by the Iraqi military aircraft on Thursday in the missile development plant in the district of al-Hawijah, northwest of the Kirkuk province.

An Iraqi military aircraft operation, taking place in a missile development plant, belonging to ISIS in the district of al-Hawijah killed 35 ISIS terrorists on Thursday. The information was reported by the Arabic-language al-Sumeria news website.

The operation comes on the same day as the Iraqi army and their allied forces, held an operation the retake the city of Mosul, which currently is led by ISIS and is their capital of Nineveh Province. The city has been under their control since June 2014. Before the attacks, the city had some 2 million residents.

According to a statement from Iraq’s joint operations command, the troops and forces from the Popular Mobilization Units began ‘’the first phase of conquest operations’’ in Nineveh.

Iraqi military forces have also managed to take control over several villages on their way to Mosul. According to the statement these villages are al-Nasr, Garmandi, Kudila, and Khurburan. Additionally, they liberate the city of Hit in Anbar Province from the ISIS terrorists.

In February, the Iraqi forces also managed to gain control over the city of Ramadi, capital of the Anbar prrovince.
