3,010 Civilians Were Killed, 7,500 Wounded Over Past Year: Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission

The Afghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission (AIHRC) released a repor regarding civilian casualties in the war-torn country in 1397 Solar year – in the period from March 21, 2018 to March 21, 2019.

According to the AIHRC report, 3,010 civilians were killed and 7,500 others were wounded as a result of military actions and terrorist attacks in the period.

A the same time, the country’s ministry of interior released own report claiming that hundreds of Taliban members, including 600 commanders and shadow governors of the group, were killed. Nonetheless, the ministry did not provide data regarding the death toll of pro-government forces.
