2 Turkish Soldiers Killed in Clashes with Kurdish Militants in Country's Southeast

At least 2 Turkish soldiers have been killed in clashes with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militant group in the country’s southeast.

Turkish media report that the events occured on September 5 when the Turkish military launched an operation against PKK militants in the Turkish province of Hakkari. The operations in the region is still ongoing.

The development followed two days of heavy clashes in the same province in which 12 Turksih soldiers were reported killed and 26 others injured. According to pro-Turkish sources, over 100 PKK militants were killed or wounded in these clashes.
