Kunduz province army spokesman Nasratullah Jamshidi said that the security forces in the crackdown against militants in the northern Kunduz province have killed eight armed Taliban militants.

It is reported that 15 Taliban militants are killed in northern Afghanistan and civilian have been kidnapped in the western Herat province over the past 24 hours.

Kunduz province army spokesman Nasratullah Jamshidi said that the security forces in the crackdown against militants in the northern Kunduz province have killed eight armed Taliban militants.

“Eight Taliban militants have been killed and 10 others sustained injuries as government forces targeted Taliban hideouts in parts of the northern Kunduz province on Saturday,” Jamshidi reported.

The Faryab province police chief Sayed Agha Andarabi told local media on Saturday that the security forces have killed seven Taliban fighters and injured 10 others in Dawlatabad district of the northern Faryab province and recaptured two checkpoints from the Taliban militants over the past 24 hours

On Saturday, spokesman for the provincial government, Jilani Farhad said that Taliban militants abducted 15 de-miners in the western Herat province.

“Fifteen personnel of a mine clearance agency were on their way to Kohsan district on Friday when a group of unidentified armed people kidnapped them on Islam Qala road and took them to the unknown location,” Farhad reported.

Taliban militants have not made any comment yet.

However, the Taliban control more territory than at any point since 2001. Taliban also took a provincial capital, Kunduz, and are threatening another, Lashkar Gah in Helmand.

Since the war on terror began 14 years ago by the US and its allies, Afghanistan has been crippled by insecurity and terrorism which also has been taking numerous civilian lives.
