On August 24, Russia and Ukraine launched prisoner exchange after  amid the ongoing heavy battles on the frontlines, including in the Russian Kursk region. The exchange took place through the mediation of the UAE.

The Russian Federation has returned 115 servicemen. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the exchanged Russian servicemen were captured by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kursk region. Russian authorities confirmed that the exchanged Russian servicemen include those who did their conscription service on the border of the Kursk region, where they were captured by Ukrainian forces.

Currently, the exchanged Russian servicemen are on the territory of Belarus, where they are receiving medical and psychological assistance, and have also been given the opportunity to contact their relatives. After the Armed forces of Ukraine launched attack in the area of Sudzha in the Kursk region, the last border crossing operating on the Russian-Ukrainian border was destroyed. Today’s exchange likely took place on the Belarusian border.

“All released servicemen will be taken to the Russian Federation for treatment and rehabilitation in medical institutions of the Russian Ministry of Defense,” the statement said.

On the other hand, the Armed Forces of Ukraine recieved the same number of captured servicemen. Zelensky confirmed the exchange, as always, claiming that Kyiv had received fighters of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, the Navy and the border guard service.

The previous exchange of 95 servicemen to 95 took place on July 17. Before that, the warring sides exchanged military personnel on June 25, then 90 Russian and 90 Ukrainian servicemen returned home. Representatives of the United Arab Emirates always performed mediation functions.

those ukrops that surrendered and are exchanged now are mostly conscripts as well. so you cant really demonize them.

IMHO

what this proves is that ukraine is inflicting losses and taking prisoners, just like russia. it’s not the oneway street the propagandists on both sides make it to be.
